Windows are an important part of any home. They provide shelter and protection from the elements, as well as add to the overall beauty and style of a home. There are many different types of windows available on the market, but here we will discuss the benefits of using timber windows and why it could be the right fit for your home.

Benefits of Timber Windows

Timber windows look right at home on period and traditional properties but can also look striking contrasted with modern new-builds. The technology of engineered timber windows has come far since the days of warping and twisting, so they both look and perform fantastically!

Durability – Unlike wooden windows of old, our windows will not twist or rot and require very little maintenance.

Energy Efficiency – Glass can have a dramatic effect on the performance of windows. All of our windows are either  double glazed  or triple glazed and utilise Softcoat Low-E coatings as standard.

Safety Features – all of our windows come with high security locking mechanisms with friction hinges as standard.

Maintenance Requirements for Timber Windows

To clean timber windows, simply use a soft cloth with a mixture of warm water and washing up liquid. Don’t use a glass cleaner or any other bathroom cleaner on the frames!

Have a look at the surface coating every year and re-coat the wood with micro-porous stain or paint if needed.

Timber windows are a great way to add charm to the look and feel of your home, just make sure that you choose modern, well engineered timber windows like those offered at Prior Products .
